Botsa Satyanarayana Banned Magadheera in Vijayanagaram

Generally films from the bastion of mega family are prone to criticism and negative talk whenever they are released. Magadheera is one of the very few films from Mega family that carried positive reports and glorifying reviews all over.

The only negative publicity Magadheera getting for is not regarding the quality of movie, but several things associated with any movie. Initially, a writer claimed that the story is allegedly copied from his published novel ‘Chanderi’. People writer Vangapandu Prasad got hurt because his legendry lyric ‘em pillo yeldam vostava’ was used as backdrop for a dance bit by scantily clad item girl. Then there is a lawyer from Vijayawada who filed a writ against Magadheera film by saying it showed lawyers in a poor light. Our TRP hungry TV channels latched on to each and every bit of it, magnified and shown all these points as they are as threatening as Swine Flu to Indian citizens.

A few movie goers died due to current shock in Saluru village of Vijayanagaram district recently. It was an unfortunate incident and it should be condemned. The theatre management should be brought to book for their sheer negligence which caused the lives of innocent movie lovers who came to watch a movie of their favourite star. Botsa Satyanarayana, a popular minister hailing from Uttarandhra took it as an opportunity to impose ban on all theatres playing Magadheera in Vijayanagaram district. And not all theatres were checked for safely measures before imposing this ban. And theatres that are playing other movies are untouched.

A section of media and movie lovers are claiming it as a ploy by Bosta to promote another movie that is releasing very soon. There are rumours that Botsa Satyanarana is the ghost producer of that movie. Whether this rumour is true or not, let us hope that Bosta Satyanarana will think reasonably and take a rationale decision regarding imposing ban on all theatres playing Magadheera.
